Calders and Grandide sponsor championship in October June 2008

STOP PRESS - We are delighted to announce that CALDERS and GRANDIDGE, suppliers of quality equestrian fences will be sponsoring the £1,000 UK LOOSE JUMPING CHAMPIONSHIP for three year olds to be held at the Sport Horse Centre on Saturday 18th October. Entry forms will be available online soon.

Royal Show 3 -6th July June 2008

Come and meet the Sport Horse Centre Team at the Royal Show 3 -6TH July. The Sport Horse Centre is exhibiting in the equine area at the Royal Show. Visitors can view and purchase a selection of our young sport horses and talk to us about our stallions and youngstock for sale - so come and meet our horses!!

Success Sales Open Day 15th June June 2008

Once again the Sport Horse Sale Open Day held on 15th June was a tremendous success. Buyers toon advantage of the oportuninty to see and try quality young sport horses in a relaxed sales environment and talk with the owners and breeders, with the result that of the 18 horses offered for sale, during and after the open day, 14 were sold. We wish the new owners every success with these young horses and look forward to seeing them progress in showjumping, dressage and eventing. Watch this space for details of our next sale open day!

Breeders Open Day 20th April great success! April 2008

Our first Breeders Open day and Sport Horse Sale was a great success. Over 300 breeders and buyers attended and the breeding seminar and preparation for grading demonstrations were ' standing room only'. Many potential buyers took the opportunity to come and watch the young horses training and loose schooled and also try them in a relaxed sale environment in the week preceding the sale day, with the result that over 70% of the horses offered were sold on the day. Our next sale day is Sunday 15th June. Details to follow soon.

New Stallions 2008 season March 2008

The KWPN and Selle Francais approved stallion GOODTIMES is joined at the Sport Horse Centre by his recently AES approved three year old son - GREAT TIMES ( GOODTIMES X CONCERTO X LANDGRAF), who we hope will follow in the footsteps of his illustrious father. GREAT TIMES will available to a limited number of mares for the 2008 season.
He is joined by our exciting new three year old AES approved dresage stallion AMARILLO ( Don Romantic x Goodtimes x Ahorn Z). Amarillo is blue blood dressage bred, being by Don Romantic (Don Shufro). Amirillo is the brother of the KWPN approved stallion and Grand Prix dressage horse Prestige, being out of the same dam Lavendel (by Goodtimes). AMARILLO will also be available to a limited number of mares for the 2008 season before commencing his ridden career. For full details see our STALLIONS pages.

Spring Dressage Clinics at the Sport Horse Centre January 2008

We are please to announce that International Classical dressage trainer Peter Maxwell will be running regular dressage clinics at the Sport Horse Centre on the following dates 5th Feb, 19th Feb, 18th March, 1st April, 15th April, 13th MAY. Individual hourly sessions are available from 2.00pm to 8.00pm on the above dates, cost is £65 per session which includes arena hire. For further details or to book a slot Tel 07908 785588

Happy 20th Birthday Goodtimes 25th January 2008

The fabulous KWPN and Selle Francais approved stallion GOODTIMES celebrated his 20th Birthday on 25th January 2008. Goodtimes has sires over 2,500 sport horses worldwide including Grand Prix dressage horses, International showjumpers and advanced eventers as well as many approved stallions. It is a great testament to his wonderful character, temperament and soundness that he is still in regularly work and comes out every day like a three year old!! GOODTIMES IS AVAILABLE TO A LIMITED NUMBER OF MARES IN 2008, and is always popular, so book your mare early to avoid disappointment.

Sports Horse Centre opens its doors October 2007

The Centre opened in October 2007. It has been modelled on the highly successful Dutch system whereby a Central Stud and Sales Centre works closely with its network of farmers and breeders to consistently assist and advise on all aspects of Sports Horse breeding and provide first class facilities to present & sell the top quality sports horses produced. This system has been so successful that currently the Dutch and German Sports Horse Industries supplies nearly 85% of all young sports horses purchased by competitors in the UK.
